About College

Welcome! to the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences site at SQU, with nine undergraduates and eight postgraduate programs designed to help our students meet the challenges of the 21st century. This website serves as a gateway to the College and the University in general.

We are a strong, vibrant community of faculty, students and staff united around a shared passion for the natural world. We cover many disciplines –animal and veterinary sciences, crop science,; food science and nutrition, marine and fisheries science, natural resource economics and soil, water and agriculture engineering. In all of these fields, we offer a wide range of opportunities – inside and outside the classroom – for you to learn and explore.

World Animal Day

The Animal and Veterinary Sciences Group have celebrated the World Animal day with an awareness campaign in Nizwa Grand Mall on October, 4th, 2019 in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. The event was under the patronage of Eng. Sultan bin Saif Al Sheibani general director of the directory of agriculture and animal wealth. The event aimed at raising the awareness about the role that Animals and Livestock and their benefits to humans and the economy. It also shed light on the zoonotic diseases and their dangers and treatments. The event also discussed animal rights and welfare. During the event, a number of children's educational entertainment activities were carried out. At the end of the event, the participants and organizers of the event were awarded certificates of appreciation. Approximately 250 participants participated in the event.

نظمت مجموعة علوم الحيوان والبيطرة فعالية اليوم العالمي للحيوان بالتعاون مع المديرية العامة للزراعة والثروة الحيوانية في جراند مول نزوى بتأريخ 4/10/2019 . وكان افتتاح الفعالية برعاية المهندس سلطان بن سيف الشيباني المدير العام للمديرية العامة للزراعة والثروة الحيوانية. هدفت الفعالية إلى رفع مكانة الحيوانات، والتعبير عن أهمية وحقوق الحيوانات في العالم، وتسليط الضوء على المشاكل التي تعانيها بأنها مهددة بالانقراض وتأثير المشاكل البيئية عليها. فقد لاقت الفعالية حضور كبير جدا من قبل الزوار العمانيين والوافدين ما يقارب 250 زائر. فقد قام المشاركين بعرض مجموعة من المواضيع مثل صحة الحيوان وارشاد الانتاج الحيواني وحقوق الحيوان وتأثير المشاكل البيئية وتهديد الحيوانات بالانقراض. وكما كان هنا أركان ترفيهية وتعليمية خاصة بالأطفال. وصاحب الفعالية تكريم للمشاركين.
