Hamdan Al-Jabri has been a faculty member of the Department of Accounting since 1997. He is currently the head of the department. His educational background includes a BSc from Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), an MSc from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) and a Ph.D. from Cardiff University (UK). His main research interests are in the area of financial reporting. He has taught courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Courses taught include management accounting, financial accounting, taxation, and auditing. He is a member of the General Assembly of GCC Accounting and Auditing Organization. He also served as an expert in the Appeal Court of Oman. He has written technical reports for some government agencies and institutions and participated in writing a chapter in the Oman Encyclopedia.
