Almukhtar Saif Al-Abri, an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance. Dr. Al-Abri has been a faculty member of the Department of Economics and Finance since 1997. His teaching interests are in the areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics, applied econometrics, and international money and finance. His research interests focus on exchange rate economics, international financial integration, and the macroeconomics of oil exporters and importers. He served as the Editor and supervisor of the Economics Section in The Omani Encyclopedia, inaugurated in 2014. He has published in a number of internationally refereed journals including: Economics Letters, Economic Modelling, International Review of Economics and Finance, International Review of Applied Economics, and OPEC Energy Review. Dr. Al-Abri has participated in the organization of a number of international conferences and has refereed for many internationally refereed journals and research bodies. Dr. Al-Abri was awarded The Outstanding Academic Award by Sultan Qaboos University in 2011.
