Azmat Gani is Associate Professor of Economics at Sultan Qaboos University. He specializes in applied economics policy oriented work. His current research focuses on institutions and trade policy, economics of governance in the developing countries, the effects of air and water pollution; population health and the study of Asia Pacific and the Arab oil endowed economies. His current research focuses on governance and trade, corruption and natural resource exports, contract enforcements and industrial activity and water and air quality. He holds a Ph.D from Massey University (New Zealand) and M.Com and B.Com from Lincoln University (New Zealand). He has several years of teaching and research experience in the Asia Pacific and the Middle east region.
