Nisar Ahmad recently joined the Department of Economics and Finance Sultan Qaboos University as an Assistant Professor. Before joining the university he worked at Department of Border Region Studies, University of Southern Denmark as an Assistant and Associate Professor. He taught various courses in Flensburg University Germany. He is also teaching PhD course in panel data econometrics in International Research workshop for PhD students since 2009. His research expertise are in technological spill overs in the regional context by using spatial econometrics model. His research also includes earnings mobility and evaluation of active labour market policies using duration analysis.
