Helena is an Assistant Professor at the Marketing department at the College of Economics and Political Science, having joined the faculty in September 2015. Prior to joining Sultan Qaboos University, she was a lecturer at the Faculty of Business, Sohar University. Before relocating to Oman, Helena taught at the University of South Wales and at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. Helena utilises qualitative methodologies in her research approach and is adept at using a range of Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS). Her primary research interest centres on strategic cross-sector collaboration between business and nonprofit organisations. Helena has worked with numerous high profile business corporations in the UK, to include FTSE100 companies, and nonprofit organisations operating in the arts context. Most recently, she co-authored a study related to entrepreneurship in Oman which was awarded the Best Paper for GCC at the International Council for Small Business World Conference (ICSB 2015) held in Dubai, UAE. Helena has also served as a reviewer of submissions for the Journal of Business Research and co-organised numerous symposia, seminars and workshops as a founding member of a research group at Cardiff University.
