Nawra Al Lawati is the first Omani faculty member to join the Political Science department at the Sultan Qaboos University. She holds a Master's degree with Merit in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her dissertation addressed the political feasibility of the Gulf Common Currency Unification, which was well received from the school's grading committee. She is currently teaching courses at the undergraduate level. Her research interests revolve around gender and politics, middle eastern studies and international political economy.
