Research Awards

Best Researcher Award

Every year, SQU awards the best researcher from each college during University Day celebrated on the second of May. Each college evaluates applicants based on a set criteria.

Research Award for Most Active Research Group

SQU encourages the formation of research groups within and among disciplines that aim to activate scientific research in various fields of research which contribute to social, economic and scientific development, and provide appropriate support for their continuity. These research groups can serve as a nucleus for future research centers and aim at enhancing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.

The Deanship of Research offers an annual award of 3,000 Omani Rials for the most active research group at SQU, which is equally distributed among the group members. In order to enter the competition, the group must be registered with the Deanship of Research. The winner is announced on the University Day held in May every year. SQU Publication and Patents Award

The concept of this award is to provide financial incentives to researchers for publishing in high quality journals and for earning patents. SQU authors can apply for as many awards as possible based on eligible papers published in a given calendar year. The number of awards is unlimited.
