The “Humanities Research Centres in the Arab World: Challenges, Opportunities and Cooperation Prospects” conference is a forum where the current condition of humanities research centres in the Arab world can be discussed and concerns informing their international and regional orientations can be presented. It is an avenue through which these centres can meet and explore important developments in humanities research with the view of exchanging their knowledge and expertise. Through this process, researchers, academics, and other professionals in the field can learn from each other and benefit from the experience of some of the most well-respected research institutions in the Arab world. This exchange of views will create an environment in which attendees can build professional and personal networks and subsequently strengthen their centre’s levels of international cooperation and scientific endeavour. The conference aims to help realize this goal by bringing all delegates together in the final day to author a shared strategic plan that explicitly deals with current regional challenges and opportunities related to the humanities.
