COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Department provides technical and logistic services for activities related to anatomical sciences and require the use of cadaveric specimens or other related resources. This includes conducting gross anatomy and histology practicals of the courses offered by the College of Nursing and the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences at SQU.

Subject to availability, the anatomy facility is used for postgraduate clinical training courses organized by clinicians and faculty at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. Such courses are usually conducted in collaboration with other national institutions such as the Ministry of Health and Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB).

We also receive requests from local academic institutions to have access to our collection of cadaveric specimens so that their students have the opportunity to study anatomy using our resources.

The department extends its services to the wider community through receiving school visits on a regular basis where the students get exposed to medical sciences in general and anatomy in particular.
