Oman Mathematics Committee was established  to become the advisory leader in the field of mathematics education in the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf area.

Take mathematics as our road to development.

In general, the committee aims to contribute effectively in the development of scientific capacity and the development of scientific research in mathematics and mathematics education via the following:Contribute effectively in the development of scientific research in Mathematics and Math Education.

Contribute effectively in the development of scientific thought in Mathematics and work on developing and energizing it. 

Achieve scientific communication in the field of Mathematics between committee members and personnel interested in Mathematics in the country and overseas. 

Provision of scientific advice in Mathematics. 

Development of scientific and professional performance of committee members and candidates interested in Mathematics. 

Facilitate the exchange of scientific production and scientific thoughts in fields of interest of the committee between individuals and bodies in the Sultanate and overseas. 

Improve mathematics activities in the Sultanate and feature them in international forums  

Improve the link with the International Mathematics Union (IMU) and benefit from it in developing Mathematics in the country. 

Changing the membership type of the Sultanate in the International Mathematics union (IMU) from associate to permanent. 

Work on including the Sultanate in the list of countries which hosts the International Congress which is organized by the International Mathematics Union (IMU).
