Many companies and organizations have major problems for which they can use the university’s know-how, equipment and time. In a research contract the organization specifies the problem, perhaps after preliminary discussion with SQU researchers, lists a set of deliverables and indicates a deadline for each. The nature of the contract may require work being done outside of normal working hours and/or off-campus.

Internationally Funded Projects
Allocation of funds to support research activities is accomplished by the award of grants based upon proposals initiated by the faculty members. Proposals are encouraged from groups of faculty members, one of whom would serve as the principal investigator. The purpose of the research grant is to encourage achievement of well identified objectives represented in comprehensive research proposals initiated by individuals or groups within the colleges.
Research donations or grants made to the University by outside bodies are to be considered as internal funds. Unless research donations stipulate specific restrictions, they shall become part of the general research fund.
