  •  Provide consultations and guidance for CPS faculty working on research.
  •  Enhance CPS teachers research skills by providing workshops on research and its research methodology and design.
  •  Raise awareness about the available resources for research (e.g. electronic databases, newsletters, books and funding).
  •  Facilitate the exchange of ideas and experience amongst potential researchers from within and outside the university through research symposiums, workshops and networking events.
  •  Disseminate the outcomes of CPS based research by supporting the faculty to present in conferences and publish in journals.

  • Dr.Suad

    Dr. Suad Al Wahaibi

    On 12 September 2006, Dr. Suad officially commenced her professional journey in the Language Centre (Centre for Preparatory Studies), as a demonstrator after graduating from the College of Education with distinction. After getting her MA in Applied Linguistics with honors from Melbourne University, Australia, she committed herself to pursuing excellence academically and professionally. Earning her PhD degree in Education from the University of Sheffield, UK, has further reinforced her ambition in this direction. In this interview, she takes us through how she developed a passion for conducting research despite the challenges she has faced.

    Dr. Nauman Ahmad

    Dr. Nauman Ahmed is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at the Centre for Preparatory Studies, Sultan Qaboos University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics from the University of Huddersfield in the UK. With 23 years of teaching experience, he has presented papers at international conferences, published research articles in international peerreviewed journals, actively served as an advisor and associate editor for numerous journals and conference boards, trained hundreds of teaching faculty, and provided review services to local and international communities. He has been honored as a distinguished teaching faculty and a distinguished researcher by the CPS, SQU. Additionally, he participated as a panelist and delivered keynote speeches at international conferences. In this interview, he talks to us about how he went through his research journey in his career.
