Central Research Committee

About The Commiittee
- Provide consultations and guidance for CPS faculty working on research.
- Enhance CPS teachers research skills by providing workshops on research and its research methodology and design.
- Raise awareness about the available resources for research (e.g. electronic databases, newsletters, books and funding).
- Facilitate the exchange of ideas and experience amongst potential researchers from within and outside the university through research symposiums, workshops and networking events.
- Disseminate the outcomes of CPS based research by supporting the faculty to present in conferences and publish in journals.

Dr. Fatemeh Madiseh

I hold a B.A. and M.A. in English Language and Literature, and my Ph.D. is in Applied Linguistics with a focus on teaching English as a foreign language. I completed my PhD in 2017 at the University of Tehran, Iran. I have been teaching English courses in higher education over the past 20 years.
Dr. Victoria Tuzlukova

Dr. Victoria Tuzlukova graduated from Rostov State Pedagogical University in Russia with a BA/MA joint degree in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics. She obtained a PhD in Comparative Linguistics from Moscow State University.
Dr. Saleh Arizavi

Saleh Arizavi has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Iran. He has keen research interest in second language writing, academic writing, genre analysis, discourse analysis, and argumentation.
Dr. Mohamed Yasin

Dr. Yasin is an accomplished academic with over 23 years of teaching experience and 12 years of dedicated research in fields such as Wireless Sensor Networks, Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, and Cyber Forensics. His work focuses on creating secure and intelligent network environments, investigating cyberattacks to trace digital evidence, and developing energy- efficient communication in wireless sensor networks.
Dr. Said AlFurqani

Dr. Said Al Furqani is an early-career researcher at Sultan Qaboos University, who recently completed his PhD in Education at the University of Manchester (UK) in December 2024 Specialization: Internationalization of Higher Education Policy & Practice.
Dr. Yazdan Choubsaz

Yazdan Choubsaz holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics. Over the years, he has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, authored book/encyclopedia chapters in his area of expertise, technology-mediated language instruction, and presented papers at international ELT & CALL conferences.
Dr. Jamila Al Siyabi

Dr. Jamila Al Siyabi has an MA in Applied Linguistics from Queensland University, Australia, a MSc in Educational Research from Exeter University, UK and a PhD in Education from Exeter University, UK on cohesion and coherence in EFL academic writing.
Dr. Nauman Ahmad

Dr. Nauman Ahmed is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at the Centre for Preparatory Studies, Sultan Qaboos University.
Dr. Suad Al Wahaibi

On 12 September 2006, Dr. Suad officially commenced her professional journey in the Language Centre (Centre for Preparatory Studies), as a demonstrator after graduating from the College of Education with distinction.
