Academic Recruitment Committee

Purpose

To ensure that the recruitment process for faculty positions at the College is conducted according to SQU Bylaws and the College equity Statement. In addition, to ensure that recruited faculty would significantly contribute to achieving the College mission.

Responsibilities

  1. To review job descriptions for open faculty positions.
  2. To review applications and select most suitable candidates for interview.
  3. To conduct interviews with candidates.
  4. To make a recommendation to the College Board of the finally selected candidate.
  5. To review and recommend contract renewal or otherwise of current faculty.
  6. To identify areas of improvement and suggest means of achievement.
  7. To act on any other related matters that may be assigned to the Committee by the Dean.
  8. To periodically report to the College Board on the progress of the Committee work.
