College of Medical Education and Health Science is at the forefront of providing the best education and pioneer scientific environment. We are accredited domestically and internationally. 

The Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit at the College established on April 18, 2017, alongside similar units in other colleges. The Unit mission to serve college vision and mission (here) and it is a central hub for overseeing quality assurance and accreditation activities. Our focus includes:

Domestic Accreditation
COMHS partakes with the SQU accreditation by the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) in 2018.

International Accreditation.
MD Program – WFME
BMS Program – IBMS

1. Prepare and draft an academic accreditation roadmap for the College.
2. Communicate with other relevant units within the College and the university on quality assurance and accreditation.
3. Supervise quality assurance and academic accreditation activities in one-program colleges and coordinate with departments in multi-program colleges.
4. Follow up the implementation of quality assurance and academic accreditation processes in the college.
5. Prepare regular reports to the Dean about quality assurance and academic accreditation processes to be presented to the College Board/center administrative committee. The same reports will be transferred to the Concerned DVCs and QAO.
6. Prepare and implement necessary training programs for staff on quality assurance and academic accreditation, in coordination with relevant units at SQU.
7. Carry out the logistical activities related to quality assurance and academic accreditation processes in coordination with relevant university units.
8. Collect and file data in the appropriate format required by institutional accreditation.
9. Act on any other relevant issues required by the College Dean. 

1. WFME program on global standards in medical education approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Medical Association (WMA).
2. World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) grants Association for Medical Education in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (AMEEMR) and Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD/Turkey) a recognition status to accredited MD programs in its regions. 
3. The COMHS MD Program accredited by WFME in 2013 and reaccredited on 2024.

1. IBMS is found in 1912 in United Kingdom. It has over 100 years advocated to promotion, development and providing a distinction knowledge in biomedical science within education of medicine. 
2. Professional scientists run the institution and operate in 74 countries and more than 21,000 members. 
3. The COMHS BSc Biomedical Sciences with Clinical Placement Full-time Program accredited from 2015 to 2019. And it has been reaccredited recently from 2020 to 2024.
