Purpose
To provide academic leadership to the postgraduate studies in the College in order to ensure high level of graduate competence in line with contemporary international standards.
Responsibilities
- To ensure that administration of the College postgraduate programs is in line with SQU Postgraduate Regulations.
- To oversee the College postgraduate students' selection and scholarship allocation processes.
- To monitor and support the progress of postgraduate students.
- To provide guidance to supervisors and students regarding research policies and procedures.
- To review the progress of PhD students to ensure that students:
- knowledge and skills are appropriate to the research to be conducted.
- identified the appropriate and practical research methods.
- have a feasible plan for the progression and completion of the research within the SQU mandated PhD timeframe.
- To recommend action on proposed program changes, and new postgraduate programs.
- To periodically review postgraduate studies of the College including postgraduate students' output (patents/publications etc.) and recommend means of developing it.
- To act on any other related matters that may be assigned to the Committee by the Dean.
- To periodically report to the College Board on the progress of the Committee work.
