Purpose
To oversee, encourage, support and enhance research performance of COMHS and UMC, SQUH
Responsibilities
- To implement College research plans and to encourage and support the College researchers.
- To receive, evaluate and approve funding of submitted research proposals by College and SQUH staff in accordance with predetermined objective criteria.
- To give priority in funding to research proposal with high quality and impact/outcome.
- To conduct research related-activities (invite speakers, workshops etc.) to inspire COMHS and SQUH researchers.
- To monitor the progress of funded research projects until completion to ensure compliance with submitted proposals and with SQU Research Regulations.
- Suspend or withdraw approval for any project, which no longer complies with submitted proposal and SQU Research Regulations.
- To maintain a register of all applications that records the history of each proposal/project for two years after submission/completion.
- To identify areas for improvements and suggest means of achievement.
- To act on any other related matters that may be assigned to the Committee by the Dean.
- To periodically report to the College Board on the progress of the Committee work.
