Research Committee

Purpose

To oversee, encourage, support and enhance research performance of COMHS and UMC, SQUH

Responsibilities

1. To implement College research plans and to encourage and support the College researchers.
2. To receive, evaluate and approve funding of submitted research proposals by College and SQUH staff in accordance with predetermined objective criteria.
3. To give priority in funding to research proposal with high quality and impact/outcome.
4. To conduct research related-activities (invite speakers, workshops etc.) to inspire COMHS and SQUH researchers.
5. To monitor the progress of funded research projects until completion to ensure compliance with submitted proposals and with SQU Research Regulations.
6. Suspend or withdraw approval for any project, which no longer complies with submitted proposal and SQU Research Regulations.
7. To maintain a register of all applications that records the history of each proposal/project for two years after submission/completion.
8. To identify areas for improvements and suggest means of achievement.
9. To act on any other related matters that may be assigned to the Committee by the Dean.
10. To periodically report to the College Board on the progress of the Committee work.
