Students’ Academic Development and Review Committee

Purpose

To actively involve students in shaping the academic environment, fostering their leadership, and improving the quality of education in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences. The committee serves as a platform for students to collaboratively assess, enhance, and innovate the academic and clinical training experience while ensuring a structured, feedback-driven approach to curriculum and facility development.

By integrating perspectives from students across various programs and phases, the committee contributes to a dynamic and inclusive educational program, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Responsibilities

  1. Regularly review and assess the curriculum, teaching methods, and course content to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  2. Evaluate the adequacy and condition of educational and clinical facilities to ensure they meet program requirements.
  3. Collect and analyze student feedback through surveys, focus groups, open forums, and suggestion boxes.
  4. Submit an annual activity plan and, at the end of each academic year, provide a comprehensive report with findings and recommendations to the Assistant Deans.
  5. Collaborate with faculty advisors to guide and mentor student members, fostering their active engagement and development.

Role of Faculty:

Faculty advisors are solely responsible for providing guidance and mentorship to student members. They are not required to attend committee meetings or participate in drafting or writing the committee's reports. Their role is advisory and supportive, ensuring students are empowered to take full responsibility for the committee’s operations and outcomes.
