Academic Promotion Committee
(Based on SQU Academic Promotion Regulation 2017, AC/2016-17/2/4)
Purpose
To evaluate the promotion dossiers of potential candidates and to decide whether or not they should be forwarded to the University Academic Promotion Committee (UAPC).
Responsibilities
- Follow the procedures stated in the promotion regulations.
- Submits a report on each recommended case.
- Decides on all appeals against the Departmental Academic Promotion Committees.
- Forwards the dossiers of recommended cases to the UAPC.
- Submits an annual report to the UAPC.
- Keeps minutes and documents of its meetings for two years.
- Reports the outcome of applications to the College Board without submitting minutes.
Composition
The CAPC consists of the Dean as Chair and six senior faculty members, with one appointed rapporteur for a duration of year at the beginning of each academic year.
