The Twelfth Nursing Week (Zimam) was held under the patronage of Sayyid Dr. Mujahid Al-Busaidi, Director General of Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, and organized by the Nursing Students Group at the College of Nursing, Sultan Qaboos University. The event was conducted under the theme “Take Control and Safeguard Your Health” on Sunday, April 5, 2026. The exhibition took place in the courtyard of Sultan Qaboos University Hospital from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, featuring interactive stations, competitions, and health education activities aimed at enhancing community health awareness and encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
The accompanying activities continued under the “Zimam Towards Health Awareness” program, delivered by students of the Community Health course at the College of Nursing. The program included engaging awareness sessions, interactive activities, and hands-on educational experiences that enabled participants to learn in a practical and direct manner, along with simplified health information suitable for all age groups.
The program also featured a panel discussion titled “Beyond the Silence,” in collaboration with Youth Psychology, moderated by Dr. Khulood Al-Abri and with the participation of specialist Tasneem Al-Shukaili. The session discussed the importance of mental health, coping with daily stress, and promoting psychological well-being. Additionally, a lecture titled “Neglecting Heart Health” was delivered by Dr. Fahad Al-Kindi, highlighting the risks associated with poor heart health and preventive strategies through healthy lifestyle choices.
The event concluded with an evening program showcasing inspiring human experiences. It included the “Real-Life Experiences” segment, which presented impactful personal stories, followed by “Doctor Google,” presented in collaboration with the Theatre Group in an educational and entertaining format emphasizing the importance of reliable health information sources.
Overall, the week served as a successful interactive platform that strengthened community engagement and promoted a culture of health awareness in an innovative and engaging manner.
