How to Apply for Postgraduate Programs

Sultan Qaboos University opens applications for postgraduate programs annually. Studies begin in September.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Review the program requirements on the Postgraduate Studies webpage.
  2. Submit your application through the system: sis.squ.edu.om
  3. Read and acknowledge the declaration.
  4. Complete the required information, including:
    • Select nationality (Omani or International).
    • Enter ID number and expiry date (for Omani citizens and residents).
    • Enter passport number and expiry date (for applicants residing outside Oman).
    • Select the program you are applying for Deanship of Postgraduate Studies > Programs > Colleges
    • Enter academic qualifications.
    • Upload the English proficiency certificate.
    • Upload the required supporting documents.
    • Enter years of work experience and current employment details.
  5. Receive confirmation email of successful application submission.
  6. Pay the non-refundable application fee of 10 Omani Rials for each program.
  7. Track your application status during the application period via:

Important Notes

 

Applicants for Postgraduate Programs

Admitted Students in postgraduate Programs

 Incomplete applications that do not meet admission requirements will not be considered.

 Admitted students holding qualifications obtained outside the Sultanate of Oman must complete authentication and equivalency through the Ministry of Higher Education via www.mohe.gov.om before the start of the first semester.

 Applications will be cancelled if the English language proficiency certificate is not attached.

 Conditionally admitted students (remedial courses and/or English courses) must successfully complete them in accordance with Academic System 2018.

 No amendments can be made to the application after the application fee has been paid.

 Admitted students will automatically compete for university scholarships according to the Deanship’s scholarship regulations.

 Applicants who were previously dismissed from a program may not apply again until two years have passed since the dismissal date.

 Students funded by external sponsors must submit a funding letter to the Tuition Fees Department.

 Final-year applicants expected to graduate before the start of studies may be considered, provided they submit an expected graduation certificate and transcript, and meet the required GPA upon graduation.

 All laws, regulations, and decisions issued prior to the start of the academic year shall apply to all admitted students.

 Applicants may apply for more than one program in the same application form (except the College of Law), subject to examination/interview schedules.

 The university reserves the right not to offer programs with insufficient applicants or admitted students.

 Submission of an application and meeting requirements does not guarantee admission.

 Admission may be conditional or unconditional depending on fulfillment of requirements (full-time study, equivalency, etc.).

 The university reserves the right to cancel admission if any requirement is not met within the specified period, or if false information is provided, including exam/interview results.

 Conditionally admitted students (bridging courses and/or English courses) must successfully complete them in accordance with Academic System 2018.
