· Prepare professionals in different educational fields and qualifying student teachers for teaching their subject matters in the light of the social, scientific and technological changes taking into consideration the developmental needs of Oman.
· Provide teachers with sufficient pre- and in-service training and qualifying them educationally to meet the requirements of the basic and general educational systems.
· Establish the foundation of scientific research and its procedures and train students to carry out field research.
· Develop methods of scientific research suitable for different educational sciences.
· Develop university authorship and translate useful resources for research and university instruction.
· Participate in training courses and lifelong learning within the specializations of the department.
· Establish the principles and concepts necessary for building the Omani society on the basis of mutual respect.
· Educate learners and help them develop all aspects of their personality and raise their national pride and respect for the national institutions.
· Establish cultural and scientific relations with departments having mutual interests in and outside Oman.
· Activate cooperation between the department and the social organizations and educational institutions via the college's administration.
· Raise learners’ awareness of the scientific and technological developments and their impact on people's lives.
· Reinforce interaction among science, technology and society and their impact on the environment.
· Provide professional, educational consultancy to educational institutions in and outside Oman.
· Participate in local, regional and international educational activities such as conferences, symposia and workshops.
