Medical Internship Program Committee

 

Purpose

To manage and oversee the “Internship Program” in accordance with contemporary medical practice requirement.

 

Responsibilities

    1. To recommend to the College Board for approval the internship program policies and rules.
    2. To recommend to the College Board for approval a set of criteria for the enrollment of Omani and non-Omani applicants into the internship program.
    3. To receive, evaluate and decide on applications for the internship program.
    4. To receive feedback from tutors and interns on the program and solicit suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
    5. To counsel interns during the internship period and recommend remedial solutions to help interns to attain and retain normal progression.
    6. To decide on requests for postponing or withdrawing from the program.
    7. To suggest means for improving the quality of the program.
    8. To act on any other related matters that may be assigned to the Committee by the Dean.
    9. To periodically report to the College Board on the progress of the Committee work.
