Dr. Mohammed Al-Azri

Dr. Mohammed Al-Azri currently works as the Head of Department, Associate Professor/Senior Consultant in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Muscat, Oman. He graduated with a medical degree from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, SQU in 1993, completed his Postgraduate Graduate Residency Program in Family Medicine in 1998,  became an international member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) of the UK [MRCGP (INT)] in 2003, received a Master’s degree in Primary Care from the School of Medicine, University of Leeds, UK, in 2000, and then a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in 2006 from the same institution, and became an international fellow of the RCGP [FRCGP (INT)] in 2013. Dr. Al-Azri is involved in the teaching and examination of undergraduate medical students at SQU and is an examiner for the MRCGP (INT). Currently, Dr. Al-Azri is involved in the supervision of several Master’s and PhD students, examiners for Master’s students and conducts quantitative and qualitative research in the area of cancer, including cancer prevention, cancer education, psychosocial impact of cancer, delays in cancer diagnosis and cancer survivorship.

Dr. Moon F. Chan

Dr. Moon Fai Chan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health of the Sultan Qaboos University of Oman. He is a dedicated educator with nearly 20 years of teaching experience in statistics and a Chartered Statistician (CStat), formally recognizing my extensive professional training and experience as a statistician, granted by the Royal Statistical Society (UK) in 2005. Dr. Chan has published more than 150 papers in internationally refereed journals (h-index = 32, 3032 citations).

 

Dr. Rahma Al-Kindi

Dr. Rahma Al-Kindi is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health with international membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP [INT]), Oman (August 2007; passed with merit); and Arab Board Certified in Family Medicine (February 2008). In addition, she underwent an Academic Fellowship Program from May 2013 to April 2015. She has a special interest in teaching and education and is currently working at a well-known institute, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH), which is the main teaching hospital for both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate residents. Currently, she is the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Training Program, which is under the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB). Dr. Rahma is married with two daughters. She has a special interest in research and has several publications with a special interest in women’s health issues.

 

Dr. Yahya Al-Farsi

Prof. Yahya Al-Farsi is a Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman. He served as an Assistant Dean, and Acting Dean of College of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Chairman of SQU Hospital. He is the Chairman of Oman Public Health Society. Regionally, he has served as a Public Health Consultant at the Gulf Health Council, with headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he contributed towards the establishment of the Health Research Unit and the Gulf CDC Center. Internationally, he is an Adjunct Professor at Boston University, USA, and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London, UK. He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has supervised several Master's and PhD dissertations.

 

Dr. Maryam Al-Kiyumi

Dr. Maryam Al-Kiyumi is a Family Physician working in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. She holds credentials in Oman Medical Board and Arab Board in Family medicine. Dr. Maryam is a member of the Oman Medical Specialty Board's Educational Committee for the Family Medicine Residency Program. In addition, she is a board member of the Oman Family Medicine Society. Her interested includes clinical research and academic development.
