The Shell Chair in Carbonate Geosciences

The Shell Chair in Carbonate Geosciences was established in 2006 as a joint venture between SQU and Shell International. The Shell Chair supports the goals of SQU’s Oil and Gas Research Center (OGRC) by leading the development of research and training programs with special emphasis on carbonate reservoir characterisation and modelling. Shell International provides funding for research while SQU covers the logistical aspects of the Chair. The Chair’s responsibilities include encouraging joint ventures between SQU and industry, conducting studies in carbonate geosciences, delivering consultancies, and supporting postgraduate studies at SQU.
