Medicine information services.
Pharmacist at medicine information services (MIS) answer approximately 600 queries each year. Most of these queries are patient specific with respect to adverse drug effects, drug information, drug dose/administration, drug use in pregnancy and lactation etc. MIS coordinate the process of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) and poison reports which are later sent to Ministry of Health. MIS issues the pharmacy bulletin and the ADR news letter, both contain relevant drug related information to the health care providers. MIS plays a vital role in the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee meetings through the provision of evidence based drug information which in turn leads to the addition/deletion of new drugs to the hospital formulary.
