The Centre of Preparatory Studies organizes Placement and Exit Tests in English, Mathematics and Information Technology before the start of the academic semester and during Orientation Week. These tests are designed to assess students' academic proficiency and place them in the study groups that best match their abilities.
Importance of Placement Tests
These tests help ensure that each student is placed at the academic level most appropriate to their abilities, providing the best possible learning experience.
The College encourages all students to take the Placement Tests seriously, as they play an important role in determining the most suitable academic pathway for each student.
Exit Tests
Upon passing the Placement Test, students become eligible to take the Exit Test, which determines their appropriate academic level and whether they may be placed in advanced course levels or proceed directly to their major courses, based on their test results.
Foundation Program Levels
The English Language Program consists of six levels for students enrolled in science colleges and bilingual colleges, and four levels for students in colleges where Arabic is the language of instruction. Students normally complete two levels per academic semester and progress to the next level upon successfully passing the previous one.
The Mathematics course consists of one level, as does the Information Technology course, with each course being completed within a single academic semester.
