On-Campus Transportation

Transportation inside the university campus is available and free. There are buses for male and female students, each with designated bus stops (please refer to the map for the routes). Mini-buses with SQU logos are also freely available every 15 minutes. Also available for people going from SQU Hospital to FAMCO Clinic.

Off-Campus Transportation

Free shuttle buses are available for international students of the international student accommodation to and from the university and vice versa. For other places, it will depend on the student’s budget for transportation may depend on how far he/she lives from the University. If a student lives in Al-Khoud – a place nearest to SQU – the fare will range from 0.300 – 0.500 Omani Riyal only.

Licensed taxis are painted orange and white or pink and white for female taxis. It works on two bases: ‘engaged’, which means you take the taxi for your own ride till you arrive at your destination. This option is, of course, more expensive. The other option is known as ‘shared’ in which you can have other passengers riding the taxi with you, which makes the fare cheaper.
