Sultan Qaboos University is seeking to receive the institutional accreditation to:

  • Ensure the quality of its programs and services, which include academic and research programs, services provided to the community and to ensure that these services are highly efficient.
  • Promote the university’s position at the local, regional and international levels, and to ensure quality and excellence to cultivate a culture of quality within the university’s community including staff and students.

Any educational institution to be eligible to receive the academic accreditation should have the following fundamentals:

  • Vision and mission.
  • Appropriate resources and infrastructures to achieve the mission and educational goals.
  • The system to Document the students' work related to educational objectives, and evidence that shows that the
  • The institution is achieving its objectives.
  • Guarantees that show the institution’s ability for sustainability

 

 

Institutional accreditation achieves a number of objectives:

  •  Improves and develops the quality of higher educational institutions and educational programs. Provides information about the quality of programs offered to the public to review them.
  •  Supports the credibility of higher educational institutions, so that these institutions can use the available resources to provide the best services.
  • Ensures that the institution meets the minimum standards of quality and its requirements.
  • Contributes in the planning of higher educational institutions, and provides suggestions and recommendations regarding the funding of these institutions and their educational programs.
