The College of Agriculture and Marine Sciences held the CAMS Open Day event on October 27 th , 2022, at the Hormuz Grand Muscat Hotel. The event aimed at discussing the current challenges and future orientation of the college. The event started with opening remarks from the college dean, Professor Abdullah Al-Sadi, in which he reviewed the successes of CAMS in various fronts and highlighted a number of challenges that merit discussion. In this friendly gathering, CAMS personnel from various units had the opportunity to gather, mingle with each other and discuss issues of common concern. The gathering was an excellent opportunity to discuss issues and compile recommendations related to the Office of the Dean and College Administration services and procedures. A brainstorming group discussion session took place to discuss and suggest ideas and concerns in relation to offices of the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies, the Assistant Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies, the Assistant Dean for Training and Community Services and CAMS Administration. Following that, the attendees conveyed their concerns and suggestions to the College Admin and Assistant Dean’s Offices via a google form. Numerous comments and concerns were received and were addressed by the College Admin and Assistant Dean’s Offices in a panel discussion. The College Administration will take these comments into consideration and discuss them further with each unit individually. The Dean expressed his appreciation and gratitude for all the College staff and for those who attended the Open Day for their attendance, suggestions and feedback for a better work environment. Special thanks were given to the open day organizing committee.
