The Applied Chemistry Specialization Program was launched in 2007 and has since become one of the most specialized disciplines among the specialties of the Faculty of Science, students compete for a limited number of seats available in this program. During the first three years, the program participates in similar chemistry courses. In the fourth year, course focuses on specialized aspects of chemistry with intensive industry applications. The program is focused also on the application of chemical theories of local industries located in the Sultanate of Oman.

The program aims to produce batches that enjoy the following:

• Basic understanding of applied aspects in chemistry.
• Ability to adapt to modern methods of chemical analysis.
• Knowledge of research methods and applications.
• The ability to develop and display chemical information through presentation or writing
