Omani Student Win 2nd Place at the Kuwaiti Youth Forum
Among more than 100 competitors from various Arab countries, Ph.D. student Amira Al Gharibiya from Sultan Qaboos University won a second place in the third Kuwaiti and Arab Youth Forum competitions.
Her scientific project was entitled "Improving the performance of the membrane distillation process for water desalination using carbon nanotubes derived from waste of the Omani Palm.” Amira is a Ph.D. student specializing in chemical engineering and transformational processes at the College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University. She is also a member of the Omani Water Society and has participated in the forum “The Role of Youth in Sustainable Development and Water Sustainability” organized by the Arab Planning Institute in the State of Kuwait.
