SQU Celebrates the Graduation of its 36th Cohort

Sultan Qaboos University is celebrating the graduation of its 36th cohort of students, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs. A total of 3,106 students from various colleges and academic levels will be graduating this year.

The ceremony will be held at the Open Amphitheatre on campus over two days. The first ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, 30 November 2025, is dedicated to postgraduate students and those from the scientific colleges, with 1,712 graduates participating. The second ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, for students from the humanities colleges, with a total of 1,394 graduates.

The programme for the first ceremony includes an address by the University Vice-Chancellor, followed by the presentation of certificates to PhD graduates from the Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences, Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Science, Engineering, Education, Arts and Social Sciences, and Economics and Political Science.

Certificates will also be presented to master’s degree holders from the Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences, Nursing, Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Science, Engineering, Law, Education, Arts and Social Sciences, and Economics and Political Science.

The ceremony will feature a speech by a graduating student, alongside the presentation of bachelor’s degrees to graduates from the Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences, Nursing, Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Science, and Engineering. The programme will also include a poetry recitation and a video presentation documenting the students’ academic journey.

The second ceremony will begin with an address by the Vice-Chancellor, followed by the presentation of bachelor’s degrees to graduates from the Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences, Law, Education, and Economics and Political Science. The event will also feature a speech by a graduate, a poetry recital, and a dedicated video presentation for the humanities graduates.
