Islamic University of Malaysia’s Rector Visits SQU
His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor, received His Excellency Professor Datuk Osman Bakar, Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), during a visit aimed at exploring ways to strengthen academic cooperation and exchange scientific expertise between the two universities.
At the outset of the meeting, His Highness the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the distinguished guest. The two sides exchanged views and ideas on a range of issues of mutual interest, focusing on prospects for enhanced academic and research collaboration between the universities.
The meeting also discussed opportunities to develop and support joint scientific initiatives that contribute to promoting responsible human values and linking them to contemporary issues, while reinforcing the role of academic institutions in serving communities.
In addition, discussions addressed ongoing efforts to promote awareness of the history, civilisation, and influence of the Sultanate of Oman, including the role of the Omani Research and Studies Centre at the International Islamic University Malaysia, and its contributions to strengthening cultural, academic, and research exchange between the two countries.
For his part, His Excellency Professor Osman Bakar emphasised the importance of advancing scientific partnership and expanding avenues of academic exchange between the two universities to achieve shared objectives. He also commended the International Islamic University Malaysia’s commitment to sustaining this cooperation through the implementation of joint projects and programmes.
