315 Stand Out at SQU’s 26th Day
Sultan Qaboos University concluded its 26th annual University Day celebrations by honouring 315 distinguished members of the university community. The honourees included academic, administrative, technical and research staff, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students, in recognition of their dedication and to encourage further achievement and excellence. The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda bin Majid Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor, at the Conference Hall.

During the ceremony, Dr. Nasser bin Musabbah Al-Zidi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administrative and Financial Affairs, delivered a speech in which he reviewed the university’s key achievements across academic, administrative and operational domains. With the conclusion of the second executive plan (2021–2025), the rate of labour market satisfaction with the University’s graduates reached 85 per cent, while the proportion of accredited undergraduate academic programmes rose to 70 per cent.

He also noted that the third executive plan includes seven projects, among them initiatives to strengthen the education system, enhance the research ecosystem and support the gradual transition towards an entrepreneurial university model. Other projects focus on improving the University’s global rankings and advancing digital transformation, among additional strategic priorities.
Dr. Al-Zidi further addressed several key themes, including the updating of SQU’s mission, vision and values alongside a refreshed visual identity; empowering future generations through innovative education and skills development; institutional quality and accreditation; and human resources, with a focus on future readiness and Omanisation.
