The Sawt Society Group, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, organised an evening event titled Hayya ‘Ala Al-Hayah (Come to Life), attended by a group of academics and intellectuals. The event’s distinguished guest was Professor Ya’anallah Ali Al-Qarni, a faculty member at King Abdulaziz University, who delivered an inspiring lecture entitled "Factors Contributing to Success in Voluntary Work."
In his lecture, Professor Al-Qarni explored the essential foundations for ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of voluntary work. He emphasised the significance of dedication, effective leadership, strategic planning, and community collaboration in achieving lasting positive outcomes. He also addressed the challenges faced by volunteers and proposed strategies to overcome them, including fostering self-motivation and creating an environment that encourages generosity and service.
The event aimed to equip participants with the tools to harness available opportunities and resources to ensure the success of voluntary initiatives. It also sought to introduce participants to the principles of voluntary work, evaluate its societal impact, compare the current state of volunteering with global experiences, and identify the key elements of professional voluntary practices.
The event garnered significant engagement from the audience, which exceeded 4,000 attendees. Participants highlighted the importance of such gatherings in raising awareness and inspiring young people to take part in meaningful volunteer initiatives.
