Dr. Badriya Al-Hadabi: Vice President of FIEPS Middle East

In a new achievement added to the record of Omani competencies in international forums, Dr. Badriyya bint Khalfan Al-Haddabi has been elected as Vice President of the International Federation of Physical Education and Sport (FIEPS) Middle East during the 34th World Congress of the Federation, held in Brazil. She will hold this position from 2025 to 2028, thus becoming one of the prominent figures contributing to the development of physical education and sport at both regional and international levels.

FIEPS is an international non-governmental organisation founded in 1923 in Brussels, Belgium. It aims to promote physical education and sport on a global level. Its headquarters are currently located in Brazil, with a widespread presence through branches and representatives in more than 142 countries. The Federation operates through an integrated organisational structure, which includes the General Assembly, the Executive Committee, the Continental and Technical Committees, and the National Representatives, ensuring the achievement of its objectives. These objectives include supporting physical education and sport in schools, universities, and communities, promoting research, and cooperating with international organisations such as the UNESCO and the International Olympic Committee.

 

Dr. Badriya Al-Haddabi is known for her distinguished contributions in this field. She has represented the Sultanate of Oman in the Federation since 2015 as a member of the National Delegates and has contributed to many initiatives and events aimed at developing physical education in the region. Her election to this position underscores her expertise and leadership in promoting sport and physical education in the Middle East. She expressed her pride in this recognition, emphasising that this position represents a significant responsibility and an opportunity to enhance cooperation between the countries of the region in the fields of physical education and sport. She also highlighted the importance of developing training programmes, supporting research, and organising sporting events that contribute to achieving the Federation’s goals. Her election is expected to strengthen the role of the Sultanate of Oman in international sporting forums and support efforts aimed at improving the quality of physical education in the region, reflecting Oman’s advancement in various fields.
