09 Dec, 2025 | Return|

Sultan Qaboos University held a ceremony this morning to honour 875 academically distinguished students from several colleges. The event took place in the Grand Hall of the Cultural Centre, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, the Vice-Chancellor.

The ceremony featured an address by Dr. Rayya bint Salim Al-Mandhri, Dean of Student Affairs, who praised the achievements of the outstanding students. She stated:
“We are witnessing the harvest of our most precious investment in them. The student, as a human being, stands at the heart of the educational system, where learning becomes a broad pathway for the development of their character in all its dimensions.

On this distinguished occasion, I congratulate every student who has earned a place among those honoured today, reaping the fruit of their own hard work and that of their parents. It is an opportunity to express gratitude to their families and to their university, which has dedicated all its resources to their success. Today, they have lived up to the trust and fulfilled the promise.

I urge them to continue striving and persevering, always aspiring to a brighter future, one that illuminates the sky of this beloved nation through their generous contributions, worthy of its name and supportive of its progress. May they remain guided by noble values, strong ethics, and high-level knowledge and capabilities that enable them to be true assets to their country, their community, and humanity. I say to them: Do not settle for little; much is worthy of you, and you are worthy of much.”

The ceremony also included a video presentation on the 26th Annual Student Trip to the Republic of Türkiye. The programme featured a variety of segments, including a live art performance by the Fine Arts Group of the Deanship of Student Affairs, who presented their completed artwork to the event’s patron at the conclusion of the ceremony. The event also featured the opening of an exhibition showcasing the 26th Annual Student Trip to Türkiye.
