‘A Tale of Giving’ Exhibition Promotes Reading and Charity
The Commerce Group students from the College of Economics and Political Science have organised the 13th charity used books exhibition called “A Tale of Giving” at Muscat City Centre in Al Mawaleh.
This exhibition is an annual event that seeks to promote the culture of reading and the spirit of giving among different generations by reviving used books to support charitable work. The sustainability of this event lies in the continued efforts of the students and the college administration, along with the financial support provided by the sponsoring bodies.
The exhibition also aims to involve university students in organising the exhibition, promoting their values of volunteer work, and achieving environmental sustainability by recycling books and turning them into a source of support for charitable projects. The proceeds of the exhibition will be donated to the Zakat Committee in the Wilayat of Seeb.
In addition to books in Arabic and English, the exhibition features a children's corner that offers educational and entertaining activities aimed at fostering a culture of reading among children and enhancing their imagination. These activities include reading and storytelling workshops, as well as entertainment competitions.
It is noteworthy that last year's charity exhibition for used books successfully raised 3,000 Omani riyals, with a total of 1,973 books sold.
