02 Jun, 2025 | Return|

Sultan Qaboos University has once again achieved remarkable success at the 2025 Oman Sustainability Week Awards, winning a silver award and securing the title of top-performing academic institution in the Sultanate of Oman for the second consecutive year.

The Oman Sustainability Week Awards, co-organised by be’ah and CONNECT, took place on 11 May 2025 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, as part of Oman Sustainability Week, overseen by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

The awards, which recognise excellence in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, are open to academic institutions, government entities, medium-to-large businesses, and small enterprises operating in Oman. All entries are independently evaluated by the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) in the United States of America.

SQU was the only academic institution to receive a silver award or higher at the ceremony, standing alongside other prominent organisations in the field of sustainability.
