Conclusion of Ramadan Table Tennis Championship
The Colleges Table Tennis Championship (Singles) concluded on Monday evening at the sports complex of SQU, amidst a distinctive Ramadan atmosphere and competition among 20 students from various colleges.
The championship, held in a knockout type, featured thrilling matches, with the top two players from each group advancing to the semi-finals. The final match saw Badr Al-Jassasi from the College of Arts and Social Sciences facing Abdulaziz Al-Khatib from the same college. The high-level technical performance impressed the audience, culminating in Badr Al-Jassasi’s 3-0 victory, securing him the championship title.
In the third-place playoff, Mahmoud Al-Kharousi from the College of Arts and Social Sciences triumphed over Al-Fadhl Al-Halhali from the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences with a 3-2 victory, claiming third place, while Al-Halhali finished fourth.
The championship was supervised by Captain Ahmed Al-Mufarrji, a racquet sports coach, who highlighted that the championship revealed promising talents in table tennis. These players will be selected to join the university team in preparation for the Higher Education Institutions Championship in Oman, scheduled for October.
