Tourism Department
On behalf of myself and all members of the Tourism Department, including academics, administrators, and students, we extend a warm welcome to all visitors of the Tourism Department page.
The tourism industry is a globally recognized sector that plays a pivotal role in strengthening national economies and enhancing the quality of life. It significantly contributes to the gross domestic product and provides direct and indirect employment opportunities. Moreover, tourism serves as a catalyst for cultural understanding, fostering tolerance and peace. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in promoting environmental preservation and sustainable development through various projects.
Our beloved country, the Sultanate of Oman, is blessed with diverse landscapes that make it a versatile tourist destination, ranging from pristine beaches and vast deserts to majestic mountains and picturesque coastlines. The Sultanate also boasts a rich historical heritage, spanning from Musandam to Salalah, displaying traditional customs, architectural marvels, archaeological sites, and more.
Since its establishment in 2001, the Tourism Department takes great pride in being a significant contributor to the Omani tourism market, producing skilled professionals who hold esteemed positions, contributing to the development of the hospitality and tourism industry in the Sultanate. We offer bachelor's programs in tourism management and hospitality management, as well as a master's program in tourism destination management. We also prioritize students' skills development by offering German, French language courses, and facilitating training opportunities in esteemed institutions within the Sultanate. Whenever external training opportunities arise, we actively support our students in joining them.

The academic faculty in the Tourism Department actively engages in conducting research studies, providing consultancy services in tourism and hospitality, organizing training workshops to enhance human resources in the sector, and publishing scientific articles in renowned peer-reviewed journals. Our faculty members also contribute to editing and reviewing various international scientific publication journals and conferences.
Thanks to the unwavering support and efforts of the university presidency and college dean, the department has obtained academic accreditation for its bachelor's programs until 2026 from the German Foundation for Academic Accreditation (AQAS).

Once again, we extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting our page and look forward to engaging in fruitful endeavors that contribute to the development of the tourism and hospitality sector.
