Applying for Postgraduate Studies


International applicants can apply for Postgraduate Studies in SQU according to the conditions applied to Omanis within the assigned period for registration (regularly, November to February). An electronic copy of the application form could be obtained from the Deanship of Admission and Registration web page Submission of the application can be made by visiting SQU or sending the electronic copy through our mailing address along with verified copies of transcripts and certificates and a O.R. 10 application fee.
 
Applicants of Saudi Arabia citizens


Applicants of Saudi Arabia citizens are advised to contact their Embassy in Muscat before applying for Postgraduate studies at SQU.
 
 
Studying Visas


Admitted Postgraduate students can coordinate with the Head of Residence and Passports Section in SQU in order to get a study visa. They can visit his office or call him at (00968) 24141040.
 

Residence
SQU does not offer a residence for postgraduate students, however, they can coordinate with Director of Social Services (Male) on (00968 24141576) to get the required advices and make some arrangements with outside real-estate offices to get a reasonable place for the students.
 
 
Monthly rents vary according to the residence type and distance from the University. However, these rents can be placed in the following ranges:
* R.O. 70 - 120 for a single bedroom in a building
* R.O. 50 - 70 for sharing a single bedroom with someone else
* R.O. 250 - 550 for a 3 bedroom villa

The closest, around 3 km, residential city to SQU is called AI Khoudh (or New Al Khoudh). It is a growing city were many of SQU students live in.
 
Food


The university does not offer meals or food expenses; however, a student may consider a budget in the following range for food expenses:
* R.O. 0.5 - 1.5 for the breakfast
* R.O. 0.7 - 3.0 for the lunch
* R.O. 0.7 - 3.0 for the dinner
 
Student can also make some arrangements with restaurants inside or outside the University campus to provide him/her with specific meals.

  •  Center for Educational Technology (CET) video and photographing services

  •  Computer laboratories in the colleges
  •  SQU email and internet access
  •  Vehicle entrance permit to enter the University.
