SQU Participates in EAIE 2025 to Strengthen International Presence
As part of its commitment to strengthening its presence at international conferences and forums, and within the framework of the International Cooperation Office’s annual plan to participate in global higher education events aimed at building partnerships and enhancing the University’s international profile and global ranking, Sultan Qaboos University is taking part in the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference and Exhibition 2025.
This year marks the 35th edition of the event, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 9–12 September 2025. The University is represented by Fatma bint Ali Al-Khuzairiyah, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, and Abdulaziz bin Matar Al-Abri, International Relations Specialist.
The EAIE Conference has been organised annually since 1989 by the European Association for International Education, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering higher education institutions. The event attracts around 6,500 participants from universities, colleges, and higher education institutions worldwide.
During this year’s participation, the SQU delegation met with representatives from universities and higher education institutions from across the globe, including the University of London, the University of Science and Technology of China, the University of Ottawa in Canada, and Bezmiâlem Vakıf University in Turkey, among others. Discussions centred on opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including joint scientific research, student and academic exchange, Erasmus+ staff and student mobility programmes, clinical exchanges for students of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and the College of Nursing, as well as the promotion of SQU’s academic and postgraduate programmes. The meetings also provided opportunities to explore best practices in higher education, dual degree programmes, and the organisation of joint workshops and online academic lectures.
