At the Associate Professor and Professor levels in the Department of Accounting.

Position Requirements: Department of Accounting

 

The Department of Accounting within the College of Economics and Political Science, Sultan Qaboos University, invites applications for fulltime positions from suitable candidates in the following areas:

 

  1. Financial Management. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Financial Management, Management Accounting and Management Accounting Control Systems. Also, the successful candidate is expected to publish in top-tier accounting and finance journals.  

 

  1. Taxation. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Taxation and Financial Accounting. Also, the successful candidate is expected to publish in top-tier accounting and finance journals.  

 

  1. Islamic Accounting. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Islamic Accounting & Finance Also, the successful candidate is expected to publish in top-tier accounting and finance journals.  

 

  1. Auditing. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Auditing and Accounting Information Systems. Also, the successful candidate is expected to publish in top-tier accounting and finance journals.  

 

The positions further require that:

 

  • Applicants should have a PhD in Accounting  or in other area related to Financial Management, Taxation, and Islamic Accounting.
  • Candidates should have experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate (M.Sc. and MBA) students in aforementioned areas and supervising M.Sc. research in Accounting.
  • Candidates should be active researchers in their areas of specialization and intellectually engaged in their discipline
  • Candidates with industry experience will be given preference.
  • Candidates with Professional certificate (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, CGMA) will be given preference.  
  • Candidates should also have the necessary practical computing skills in their areas of expertise.
  • Candidates for Associate and Full Professor level should have an outstanding scholarship record.
  • Candidates should be participating members of the university, professional and local communities.
  • Candidates’ existing rank should be Associate/ Full professor.
