Business Communications Unit

The Business Communications Area provides a platform for the development of students' workplace communication skills, both written and oral. The courses offered are a combination of theoretical concepts a practical skills. The students learn to analyze, interpret and improve upon techniques provided in the textbooks. The skills developed include problem-solving, researching the subject, critical thinking, formal and informal presentations, text organization, effective teamwork and Intercultural communication. Coursework proceeds from basic tasks of preparing agendas and minutes for meetings, and writing memos and letters to more complex tasks relating to employment communication ( preparing resumes and Interviewing) and business proposals and reports. BCOM offers three required courses to all CEPS students Communication, Public Speaking and Technical Writing and assessment is continuous throughout the semester.

The unit also offers elective courses for all CEPS students to name a few :

  • Communication for Creativity and Innovation.
  • Group and Team Communication.
