 CEPS Alumni Association Board Meets

Dr. Khamis Al Yahyaeei, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science chaired the Alumni Association Board first meeting. The 11 attendees who are coming from different majors and cohorts, gathered to discuss the College vision and mission and the academic accreditation plan in addition to the strategic plan and its operations.

The first meeting of CEPS Alumni sought to establish an effective partnership and to strengthen cooperation and communication with the graduates in order to contribute to establishing relations and networks with local, regional and international institutions. This in return lead to increased training opportunities, consultations, scientific research and other activities of a benefit to the College and its affiliates. As well as contributing to the development of business practices, ethical and social responsibility and sustainability in the Sultanate in particular and the region in general.

In this regard, Dr. Sami Al Kharusi, Assistant Dean for Training and Community Service at the College, said that the Alumni Union aims to enhance communication and strengthen the relation between graduates and the initiatives of the College faculty to prepare professional graduates aligned with the demanded skills by the job market.   

"This is the first initiative of its kind in the university," said Omran bin Saeed Al Akhzami, Microsoft Public Sector Manager - 2006 Information Systems Graduate and Vice President of the Council. In the context, Fouad Khalfan Al-Sulaimi, a researcher at the National Center for Statistics and Information, said "This Union has great ambitions to connect the external community with the graduates and to prepare a well-skilled cadre".
