The College of Economics and Political Science, represented by the Department of Operations Management and Business Statistics hosted Abdullah Al Jabri (Chief Commercial Project Officer of PDO Co.). The guest speaker conducted a seminar for MBA students as part of the Operations Management course on 21 March 2023. The presentation gave a brief introduction to systems engineering. Systems engineering is a hybrid discipline that combines technical aspects of engineering and project management. Then, it moved to a case study from PDO, which compared two approaches to solve a problem. The presentation focused on the operational management aspects of both approaches. The speaker also shed light on some energy sector insights, lessons, and practical solutions in the field of operations and project management.
