	Mission   Through a commitment to scholarly and creative work that enhances instructional effectiveness and excellence in research, the College of Arts and Social Sciences seeks to provide Omani society with competent graduates who are critical thinkers committed to the pursuit of intellectual distinction and are equipped to perform effectively at professional levels of social and economic importance in a changing global community.
	Objectives   1. Deliver a high quality arts and social sciences education, enhanced by research and responsive to the needs of the community. 2. Inculcate in students Islamic ideals, values and traditions such as those of tolerance and intercultural understanding. 3. Serve as a cultural and educational resource for the interpretation and transmission of Omani history, values and traditions. 4. Foster, among others, critical and effective communicative skills that will help graduates to function productively in a wide range of employment domains. 5. Cultivate a multicultural outlook and prepare students to deal with an increasingly complex globalized world. 6. Provide high quality service to the university and to the community at large.
