The Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) is a rigorous, research-intensive program
designed to cultivate thought leaders, scholars, and industry experts capable of driving innovation,
efficiency, and sustainability in global supply chains and operations. As organizations worldwide face

through advanced research and analytical methodologies. This Ph.D. program provides a dynamic academic

Admission to the program entails that the applicant must be in possession of the following credentials:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply chain management, or related field.
- A Master’s-level degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- A Master’s-level degree must be obtained from a recognized university or business school.
- A Master cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 3.00 on a 4-point scale or equivalent in any other system and the Deanship of Postgraduate studies makes the assessment for equivalency acceptance.
- A master cumulative GPA ranging between 2.75 and 2.99 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent, taking into account the applicant’s work experience (not less than 2 years following completion of an undergraduate degree) and any academic activities they are engaged in.
- A resume showing the candidate’s qualifications, research interests, research experience, research publications, work experience, and skills. Publication in a Q1, Q2, or Q3 journal will be preferred.
- Two academic letters of reference confirming the competence in the discipline of interest and research capabilities.
- A research proposal must include the following sections: title, abstract, six keywords, introduction including rationale/justification for the proposed research, theoretical background/ framework/perspective, literature review leading to the formulation of research questions and/or hypotheses, methodology, and expected implications of the proposed research for theory, research, practice and society as a whole. The format: APA 7th edition, font Times New Roman 12, line spacing 1.5, word count: 2500 - 3000 words excluding references.
- A successful interview: a face-to-face interview for local applicants and an online interview for international applicants who are unable to attend the interview physically.
- Omani applicants for the full-time mode must submit a release letter or a study leave from their employer, addressed to the dean of the postgraduate studies at SQU.
- Unemployed Omani applicants must submit a statement from the Ministry of Labor documenting the unemployment status of the applicant.
- Submitting band (6.5) or higher in academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic or a score of (90) or higher in the International TOEFL – IBT. or
- Submitting band (6.0) in the academic IELTS test or (79) in the international TOEFL test, provided that they register for the language course LANC6001(after being admitted) during the first semester. or
- Submitting band (5.5) in the academic IELTS test or (69) in the international TOEFL test, provided that they register for the two language courses LANC6001 and LANC6003 (after being admitted) during the first semester.
- Omani applicants for the full-time mode must submit a release letter or a study leave from their employer, addressed to the dean of the postgraduate studies at SQU.
- Omani applicants for the part-time mode must submit a no-objection letter from their employer. Unemployed Omani applicants must submit a statement from the Ministry of Labor documenting the unemployment status of the applicant.
